A service of Choral Evening Prayer for Racial Justice Sunday

February 11 @ 15:30 18:00

In the past year, we have heard how many people have been displaced by war, persecution and
natural disaster. For this year’s annual event honouring Racial Justice Sunday, we have chosen to
adopt the Churches Together theme of ‘Justice for God’s people on the move’. In 2022 Trustees
and Senior Staff committed to holding an annual event, with the first service held in February
2023 in Lincoln Cathedral. It was a well-attended and engaging event which brought together
people from all over the diocese to celebrate our unity as Christians, and reflect on the issues of
racial justice.

This year, we are excited to welcome contributions from our Church Schools around the diocese
as part of our commitment to Growing Faith. Our diverse planning group (representing Asia, the
Caribbean, persecuted Churches in Europe, as well as members of the Cathedral Chapter) have
produced an event and hospitality which we hope will inspire all those who attend to go back to
their parishes with renewed vision.

We warmly invite you, and any member of your team who you would like to bring, to this
service renewing our resolve to continue to fight racial injustice where ever we see it.

Attendees may arrive from 3pm and the service will begin at 3.45pm, after which you are
warmly invited to experience generous hospitality in the Chapter House, to sustain you on your
journey home.
