Every 3 years Great Hale Church holds it very own Christmas Tree Festival. This year the theme
is ‘I believe’. It runs from Friday 6 December – Monday 9 December.
They have had many offers of trees which they are very pleased about. See below poster for details of what’s happening during the weekend..
This joyous Event starts at 6pm on the Friday 6 December when all the lights will be turned on inside and outside the church.
We are fortunate to have the Sleaford Training Band with them that evening and they will play carols inside the Church in the warmth. Mince pies, mulled wine and hot drinks will be available.
The doors will open for the Christmas Festival on the 7th December from 10am to 3pm.
We are looking forward to The Christmas Fair and our renowned Turkey Baps from 12pm!
We have a craft workshop which will be run by our hard working local Brownie leaders Denys Humphries and Emma Bastow. There will be much to enjoy including stalls, games, a Grand Raffle, face painting for children and Adults and much more.
Excitingly, people will be invited to enjoy the amazing Christmas Experience which will be a reminder of the real meaning of Christmas to us all, where young and old will be able to take part in a wonderful journey experiencing Christmas Trees and a Traditional Christmas Folk Tale with lots of activities on the way and culminating in a visit to Santa’s Grotto.
Santa Claus is kindly coming to meet us which is so lovely of him. The Christmas experience runs from
10.00am to 3.00pm and the price is £2.50.
We have also invited the Fire Service and Ambulance Service to spend the day with us, so come along and
find out what it means to be in the Front Line of our Emergency Services (subject to a real emergency
there will be both a Fire Engine and Ambulance sharing the day with us).
Alongside them we will continue Elaine’s collection for The British Red Cross Fund whose aim is to support this country with problems with flooding and people who are is desperate need throughout the world.
This year as part of out outreach we are also supporting Helpringham School with their initiative to support people in our villages who are in need at Christmas. We are collecting items for Christmas.
Later on at 7.00pm on December 7th we will have many visitors from the North Kesteven Area who are
just coming to sing Carols in a ‘Come and Sing’ event at our Church and to enjoy refreshments with the
Partnership Dean Lorna Brabin-Smith.
On Sunday 8th our Festivities continue and it will be a chance just to relax and to view the Christmas Tree
displays and an opportunity to enter the Christmas Experience from 10.00am until midday. Booking a
time slot is essential ( Tel: 01529 461971).
A Christingle Workshop will be held from 2.00pm until 3.30pm to make your own Christingle followed
by our traditional Christingle Service at 4.00pm. There will light refreshments for people throughout the day.
On Monday 9th at 6.00pm there will a third opportunity to enter yet again another magical experience from 6.00pm onwards.
